Overview
Maxwell Industries was established in 1995 for the purpose of producing suspension testing machines for all forms of racing. As our suspension testing knowledge increased, we have adpated our testing equipment to the transit industry. Maxwell Industries has found a way to deliver suspension data – through innovative technology – that is easy and simple to understand and use.
Shock Dynos

Our shock dynos are used in racing and transit organizations across the country. Heavy-duty construction means they last.
Spring Dynos

Our spring dynos help save money in transit applications and win money on the track. With a small footprint, they can be installed in a race hauler.
Bar Dynos

Our bar dynos are used to test fixed suspension parts, primarily in racing applications.
The best choice on the market today: easy to use, repeatable, high-quality data, reliability and affordable price.
Transit Overview
Maxwell Industries offers a line of equipment and services for transit organizations. Just like race cars, trains and buses need to stay on the road and out of the maintenance yard in order to reduce costs. Maxwell Industries testing equipment lets you stay on top of your suspension performance through high quality, innovative technology.
Shock Dynos

Our shock dynos can save your organization thousands of dollars a year on shocks.
Shock Service Program

Our shock and strut service program can convert your trash suspension components for a lot less than new.
Federally Recognized

As a federally recognized vendor, Maxwell Industries can provide your transit organization with the products and “know how” to save thousands of dollars each year. We are a proud member of the APTA, so you can trust that Maxwell Industries testing equipment is second to none.
The best choice on the market today: easy to use, repeatable, high-quality data, reliability and affordable price.
Fabrication Overview
We design and create custom header systems and oil pans for street, racing and custom applications. Our president, Steve Watt, has been fabricating for over 37 years (since he was 14 years old).
We fabricate custom products for some of the biggest names in the automotive performance industry: Duttweiler Performance, ARP, Ed Pink Racing Engines, Newman Car Creations, Magnusson Super Chargers, Bob Wirth Racing Engines, Tom Nelson Racing Engines and the world’s fastest piston engine car – Speed Demon Streamliner
Header Systems

In racing, header systems must be tuned to optimize power. In hot rods and street rods, space is usually at a premium.
Maxwell Industries can create a customized header system that optimizes power and fits within your space requirements.
Oil Pans

If your oil pump doesn’t get enough oil from the pan, your engine isn’t going to last long.
This is especially true in racing engines, but it applies to any engine that will be pushed close to its limits.
Fabrication is at the heart of all Maxwell Industries’ products and services.
Racing Overview
Maxwell Industries has been working in racing since the founder, Steve Watt, was 14. Of course, it wasn’t called Maxwell Industries back then, but that was when he got hooked on racing and fabricating.
Steve currently campaigns sprints, midgets, UTV’s, and serves as crew chief and head fabricator for two land speed cars.
Open Wheel
Our roots are in open wheel racing: sprint cars, midgets and silver crown.
From oil pans, headers, suspension testing equipment and custom fabrication, we know open wheel.
Land Speed
We don’t just put our sticker on land speed cars – we build them for the most demanding place on Earth – the Bonneville Salt Flats.
Off-road and UTV
Steve Watt has run Baja cars and UTV’s. Recently, he has developed a high-strength hub kit that eliminates wheel separation in certain UTV applications.
Fabricating and building race cars and parts since 1977
Overview

Maxwell president Steve Watt, went to a race with his dad in 1977 and they started building race cars soon after. From that point on, Steve was hooked on fabrication and racing. Almost four decades later, he’s fabricating during the week and racing sprints, midgets or ATV’s on the weekends.
Fabrication & Racing
Everything we do revolves around fabrication in some way, but it all started building race cars. Being in southern California, the closest form of racing to get started in was open wheel – midgets and sprint cars – on dirt. As anyone who has ever raced open wheel on dirt, the suspension set up is everything – if you can’t get traction, you’re not going to win.
Steve set out to learn everything he could about suspension components and setup.
Suspension Testing
Early shock dynos were difficult to use and the data was difficult to relate back to the track. Steve felt he do better. He fabricated a rock solid dyno and drove the creation of software that made the results easy to understand. After years of fine-tuning, Steve met someone who told him of the tremendous waste in transit shocks. Together, they adapted the racing shock dyno and created specialized software to allow transit organizations to retrieve and rebuild what they used to throw away.
Maxwell Industries Today
While it may seem strange for a company that fabricates racing parts to be making shock dynos for slow moving mass transit vehicles, there is a completely natural progression.
